Chores.<\/p>\n<p>As Cindarella might sing, you don&#8217;t know what you&#8217;ve got until it&#8217;s gone, not that I want to (mis-)quote bad &#8217;80s hair-metal.<\/p>\n<p>The NY Times has an interesting article, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2007\/02\/04\/movies\/04waxm.html?_r=1&amp;oref=slogin\">The Mystery of the Missing Moviemakers<\/a>, about the lack of recent films (or at least the huge gaps between films) by a bunch of up-and-coming (at the time) 90s directors, starting with Kimberly Peirce, who gave us Boys Don&#8217;t Cry <em>way back when<\/em>, which we remember as Hillary Swank&#8217;s transformation from &#8220;that Karate Kid girl&#8221; to serious actress and movie that introduced mainstream audiences to Chloe Sevingy.<\/p>\n<p>Toward the end the article mentions &#8220;the 3 Mexicans&#8221; (del Toro, Cuar\u00f3n, I\u00f1\u00e1rritu) and their three big, important films from 2006. I still need to see Children of Men &#8230; I keep mentioning this; I&#8217;m a bit of a broken record by now.<\/p>\n<p>I could do with a good board game or jig-saw puzzle. Or a game of cards.
