I don&#8217;t know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To summarize:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>I began griping online in a bloggish way May 7, 1998.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In December of 2000 I began posting at K5 and in 2002 and 2004 I began posting at two other Scoop-based sites.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Meanwhile, from November of 2003 until May of 2007 I kept another blog with a simple, home-grown comment system that I have long since purged of database content.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For a while after I returned from Berlin I used MySpace for diary-like entries, and these have been merged into a WordPress system that I used from June of 2010 until April of 2013.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Along the way a few other miscellaneous entries were written, and on one of the Scoop-based systems I continued posting somewhat consistently until 2013, when I moved to Rochester. Since then I wrote one 2019 entry (occasioned by the birth of $SPARE), another in 2020, and even one in 2021.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Across several systems, servers, and decades I have a thousand or so posts, but almost nothing in the past ten years.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>It is too strong a statement to claim that my move to Rochester <em>killed<\/em> any creativity or creative output that I had (after all, I did continue writing in a Sunday writing group until birth of the $HEIR), but there is a significant overlap between my move to working in IT and me giving up writing, literature, and the like.
