That’s the end of “P.”
The first Pulp tune I have is “Common People,” which I know from the less breathy, less English William Shatner version, which I in a way prefer for its theatrical over-the-top nature.

A Sunny Saturday
Before I forget, the music of Abdel Hamid Tnnari — the Solos and Melodies album — is pretty stuff.
Friday in brief
1) “Taught” — which meant listening to a sub-par presentation on the last World Cup. I showed some World Cup photos at the end. I also played some German pop music to supplement another sub-par presentation on Wednesday.
Hauntings
It’s been well over two years (Dec. 29, 2004) since Susan Sontag died, but in some reading and researching today she came up again.

Wine of the night: Pepperwood Grove pinot noir. It seems that it, like Smoking Loon (which produces a tasty, inexpensive syrah/shiraz), is owned/made/marketed by Don Sebastiani & Sons. From the “winemaker comments” on my bottle we have:

I could write for (or even four) paragraphs on hyphenation rules. But I won’t.
Manic Monday — let’s keep it “short”
I got up early (3am) so I could grade. Instead of pulling an all-nighter I went to bed at midnight (early for me!) and decided to get a couple hours of rest and then work. I awoke, showered, checked email, and got distracted. I found KittyBot, for example, a harmless mecha-sci-fi web-comic in what one often calls “manga” style, though one should remember that “manga” is the medium, not the genre or style, but we still mean big eyes and the like. Little Japan-Fetish stuff. I found it via Questionable Content, one of my daily (but for the weekends!) strips. It won’t hold my attention for long but it did hold it long enough to keep me from my work. And then I graded and sorted and graded and packed things up and caught the 5:52 #38 to campus in the dark, chilly morn.
Easter Bunny: chocolate? cream? or roasted … yum.
Last night I produced two quickly made concoctions, one to eat and one to drink, and now, this afternoon/evening, one is gone, and the other sits patiently in the fridge for further future consumption.
Minding my Ps and Qs …
I finally made it through the rest of Pearl Jam this evening. That led me to a CD of Pet Shop Boys and then three Peter Gabriel songs, most of which were known to me already. The same with Peter Paul and Mary (“Ten Years Together”), which I’m on now. Once I’m done with PP&M, I have 16 hours of “P” (Pink Floyd through Processor) before getting to “Q” …
I’ll leave the next letter until tomorrow or later.
Food and Movies on Good Friday: Dobhan, Archangel, and Slither
To go with Good Friday, which I don’t “celebrate” anyway, I decided to listen to the “Good Friday Spell” from Wagner’s Parsifal. It fits, at least, with my “P” theme — I finished Ten and moved on to Vitalogy today, though I’m only half way through.
