Get “Lost”

It’s not that I’m here to provide spoilers, but I just have to say, “Duh” regarding the Claire & Jack relationship ‘revealed’ tonight. It was hinted at so strongly in season 2, episode 20 (in which two characters die and another shoots himself), when Jack’s father travels with Ana Lucia in the rain to a house that tonight was just confirmation.

I’m waiting for Jack’s father to be a point of commonality for all the major characters and head of the Dharma Initiative to boot … okay, that’s taking things a bit far.

Man Tells Cops Unicorn Caused Crash

BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) – A man told police not to blame him for crashing his truck into a light post – it was that unicorn behind the wheel. Prosecutor Ingrid Rosenquist said Phillip C. Holliday Jr. initially denied driving the truck involved in the March 7 crash in Billings. He told officers at the scene that a unicorn was driving, she said.

Holliday, 42, pleaded not guilty Tuesday to felony charges of criminal endangerment and drunken driving.

A pickup truck drove through a red light and nearly struck another truck in the intersection, according to court documents. The driver then made an erratic U-turn through a gas station, crossed the street and crashed into a light pole. Nobody was injured.

Holliday has five drunken-driving convictions. District Judge Gregory Todd kept his bail at $100,000 despite his lawyer arguing that Holliday’s last such conviction was 14 years ago.

In Wisconsin today — near Rio, I believe — a couple anti-government types, first names Lester and Lilac, were arrested and their home searched, apparently for the whole no-tax-paying thing, along with guns and ammo. Several times on the news I heard the expression “expressed anti-governent views” repeated almost as if that itself were (or should be) a crime or reason for busting down the door.

Now make no mistake, we are dealing with rather extreme nutjobs here — particularly those of the white-supremacy, curiously x-tian, selective-reading of the Constitution, gun-nut variety — but a healthy skepticism if not outright distrust for/of government should be maintained to an extent.

When it comes to music I have about four hourse left in “Miscellaneous,” a 208 entry directory — one-hit wonders and other performers by whom I have only one song. Or I only know the song title but not the artist. Thus, “miscellaneous.” Thereafter follows Modest Mouse.
