Let’s keep it short.
I beat the bugs … so far. I went shopping but bought no bug spray. I took my chances … did I really need poisonous bug killing spray that I’d use at most once? Today? No swarms of bugs … one or two stragglers are left but for now that’s it. There was, it seems, that one batch. Where they came from, I know not.
Today: Lunch with Mike (Mediterranean), Coffee with Mike (Fair Trade), and my own little shopping and library excursions.
As for the shopping, we dropped by the Digital Outpost and looked at voice recorders, but it turns out that none under $100 have USB connectivity … so you’re basically stuck with your voice recordings on the the recorder … no audio files to transfer. One could turn the headphones jack into an audio out to the audio-in of a laptop, but my laptop has no audio in … so that’s no use. Later I went to Walgreens to get spare shoe laces to take with me, some sewing stuff (buttons), and some eye-glass wipes.
As Mike and I walked past Pel Meni we saw Angela and Steve so stopped in to chat for a bit; when we were at Fair Trade Jen and Jenny came by. Jen got the William and Mary job, so, assuming she takes it, the living-with-Christoph option is back on. Plus, her PAship will become available, so I need to send her my c.v. … and, there is the LSS PAship for which I need to apply … I need money next year, after all.
My recording of “Keeping Mum” likes to repeat a scene from just past the middle, during which Patrick Swayze meets Kristin Scott Thomas during lunch with Maggie Smith.
I saw the movie with Jen and Jenny after shopping and going to 4-Star last night … highly recommend … very funny. Quite British. Black. A bit low-key. Rowan Atkinson in it as well.
Today: more of The Beatles. I won’t finish before leaving, I suspect. Need to pack. My day was otherwise uneventful … and yet post I must!
